For more than 20 years, the Minnesota Film and TV Board has worked to increase the recognition and perception of our region as a center for the production of the moving image. As we prepare for the next 20 years, we have significant challenges ahead of us.

The country's weakened economy has affected production through the U.S., as has the continued increase in feature and commercial runaway production to countries beyond Canada. In addition, many state and city film commissions have closed due to budget deficits.

With the state of Minnesota facing a record deficit of its own, the Film & TV Board had its state funding cut by half. However, providing meaningful production assistance with a smaller staff and with significantly smaller funds is a challenge we intend to meet.

With our deep pool of crew and actors as well as our many equipment and service providers, Minnesota is ready to serve productions of all sizes. Our primary focus is no longer just feature films but the entire scope of production including television, commercials, corporate and new media.

We are privileged to serve one of the most vibrant arts communities in the nation and look forward to assisting you.
