Ice Pack
Los Angeles, 1991. A group of 30 Minnesotans living in L.A. and working in the film industry gathered at the Hollywood Bowl and dubbed themselves the "Ice Pack." The next year, the Minnesota Film and TV Board hosted the first official Los Angeles "Ice Pack Celebration" which brought together 125 people. Now, over 4,000 current and former Minnesotans living on both coasts belong to this strange "cult-like" network and plot devious ways to further their careers, peddle influence in the Hollywood community, and, eventually, take over the entertainment industry and feed the American public a diet of lutefisk and dark, chilly humor. Please join us before it's too late.
Seriously though, the Ice Pack Celebrations are a time to reconnect with old friends and neighbors, network in the entertainment industry with others who like to discuss the weather, and to remember your own humble hotdish origins. Don't miss it.
If you've never been to Ice Pack here's how it works: We get as many former Minnesotans as we can in one room and celebrate all things Minnesotan. The party is one part high-school reunion, one part networking and one part "Thank you" to the hundreds of Minnesota alumni that keep the Minnesota Film and TV Board's profile high across the country.
The Ice Pack network serves many purposes: members act as the Hollywood eyes and ears of the Film/TV Board feeding insider information about upcoming projects and trends in the industry; they provide access to key players in Hollywood; and act as a sounding board for recent Minnesota-Hollywood transplants. With the recent expansion to New York City and points east, our network will continue to grow.
