Welcome to Minnesota!
As the new Governor of the State of Minnesota, I understand the positive economic, social and promotional benefits the film and television industry brings to the state.
Minnesota has been featured prominently in front of the camera, in such films as Joe Somebody and Jingle All the Way, and Minnesotans have also made their mark from behind the camera, such as Stephen Sommers (The Mummy) and Joel and Ethan Coen (O Brother, Where Art Thou?). With more than 80 feature films shot in the state since 1990, Minnesota's hard-working and experienced crews have also made a lasting contribution to the industry.
This year we will continue our efforts to bring productions of all kinds to Minnesota while maintaining a strong, stable industry at home. My office will try to assist the Minnesota Film & TV Board in their efforts to make Minnesota the most FILM FRIENDLY, COST FRIENDLY and INNOVATIVE film market in North America.
Please call if I can help with your next production.
Tim Pawlenty
Governor of Minnesota
