    Owatonna, MN

Located about an hour due south of the Twin Cities in a fertile agricultural area, the city of Owatonna is best known for having a number of architectural treasures — chief among them the prairie-style bank designed by Louis Sullivan in 1908. Just north of the city limits sits outdoor sporting goods giant Cabela's, where one can safely observe all kinds of ferocious (stuffed) wild animals up close while shopping for camouflage mittens. Owatonna: come for the architecture, stay for the taxidermy!
