In an effort to expose the world to the great work created by Minnesota film and television producers, the Minnesota Film & TV Board has created a catalog entitled "Minnesota Produces for Screens around the World" and will be distributing it at MIPTV, the market for international television distributors.
"Minnesota Produces for Screens around the World" is comprised of listings of 38 different Minnesota production companies and film and television projects available for sale and distribution. Listings in the catalog cost between $100 and $300, and fell into 4 catagories: Features, Shorts, TV Series, and Documentaries. The goal of the catalog is to position Minnesota as a production center, and to generate sales for Minnesota production companies.
"This is a unique project because we are marketing Minnesota and the great work we do here as a whole" says Director of Production Nicole Hinrichs-Bideau. "Of course all of this work is available for sale, and we hope this generates business for Minnesota companies, but an equally important benefit is that this helps establish Minnesota, in the eyes of the world, as a place to look to for production work."
"We want people to think 'Hollywood, New YorkÂ
Minnesota!" says Craig Rice. "Competition used to be between Minnesota and Wisconsin, Iowa or even Canada. Now everyone from Bulgaria to Australia is vying for production dollars. We've got to stand out."
"Minnesota Produces for Screens around the World" is available free of charge from the Minnesota Film and TV Board. Contact us at 612.332.6493 or
