Built in the late 20's as a JC Penney store, the building became the Comet Theatre in 1938 and has been operating as such ever since. The Wassche family, the theatre's current owners, are the 3rd family to run the theatre, ensuring that the Comet Theatre has always been owned and operated by a family from the town of Perham.
