The Minnesota Film and Television Board (MFTVB) is accepting applications now through December 3, 2001 for the position of Executive Director.
Longtime board member and industry professional, Craig Rice, is acting as interim executive director through the end of the calendar year.
The executive director will be a voice for the TV/Film industry in Minnesota, helping to build and promote the commerce and art of the moving image industry in the state of Minnesota.
The executive director reports to a 30-member board of directors, oversees a $1.5 million budget and an office staff of six people.
The key goals for the coming year to be fulfilled and directed by the new person include:
* Define and build the MFTVB brand
* Raise regional, national and global awareness of Minnesota in the creative moving image industry
- Continuously improve and adapt MFTVB programs
Responsibilities include overseeing the successful financial and organizational operation of the MFTVB, to direct human resources and assure a continued high quality of production services, marketing activities, events, public relations, seminars and beyond.
Primary accountabilities include planning, prioritizing and measurement of long- and short-range goals; marketing and business development for the state of Minnesota as a shooting location; promotion and administration of the Snowbate production rebate; act as a liaison with the local and national creative community, government bodies and trade organizations.
Key competencies include visibility and advocacy, relationships with media arts organizations, media spokesperson, develop and oversee the annual budget, manage staff and create a culture that encourages staff to accomplish their best work and exemplifies the core values of quality,
creativity and innovation.

The Minnesota Film and Television Board was founded in 1981 as a unique public/private partnership. It is the only film commission in the United States which is organized as a not-for-profit organization. It serves as the state's film and television board by virtue of a contract with the state of Minnesota.
