The city of Hibbing sits in the northern part of the state in a mining area known as the "Iron Range." Hibbing has the distinction of being one of the few towns in the nation to be moved because a big old iron ore deposit was discovered under the town. In addition to being moved (and being very, very cold) it is also the boyhood home of both Bob Dylan and NBA star Kevin McHale. Many people in Hibbing own really large, thick coats.
