The Koronis Cinema :: Paynesville, MN

The Koronis Cinema was built in 1917 and originally called Jack's Theatre. In 1930, new owners changed the theatre's name to the Rialto. The theatre's name was changed once again in 1941 to the Koronis Cinema, a name it has had ever since. A vertical sign tower was also added in 1941announcing the theatre's new name, though it was removed in the late 1970s when the present-day shingles were added. While originally built as a single-screen theatre, the Koronis was split into a two-screen theatre in the early 1990s. The theatre has been continuously running for almost 85 years.
