25 minutes west of Minneapolis, the quaint city of Excelsior lies on one of the numerous bays of Lake Minnetonka, the largest metro lake. The quaint (did we already say that?) main street has been the "back lot" for many commercials because it's so, um, quaint. You can also take a ride on The Minnehaha, a steamboat built in 1906 that was dragged from the bottom of the lake in 1980 and restored via 80,000 volunteer hours (time is aplenty in Excelsior) to near perfect operation.
