The city of Fergus Falls is located in the Red River Valley in Ottertail County. That's important to remember. Outside Fergus Falls' city limits the surrounding countryside is a picturesque mixture of rolling ag fields alongside Hamm's Beer-blue lakes and hardwood forests. Visitors are greeted to "Fergus" (as the locals refer to it) by a humongous 32-foot Fiberglass otter on the edge of town. Trust us when we say this is one big beautiful otter. Also, local legend has it the fictional hamlet of "Frostbite Falls" of Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon fame is a derivation of Minnesota's own Fergus Falls!
