(MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA) - The Minnesota Film and TV Board announced the 10 finalists for the 2001 Minnesota Independent Film Fund (MIFF) today in a special pull-out section of City Pages. The three winning projects will each be awarded $25,000 in development funds, and a screenwriting mentor through the Jerome Screenwriter's Mentorship Program. Winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held 5:00pm, November 26, 2001 at Walker Art Center, Gallery 8. The ceremony is open to the public, and interested parties are encouraged to attend.

MIFF is the nations first and only development program for independent feature filmmakers. It was created by the Minnesota Film Board (now the Minnesota Film and TV Board), and is operated in conjunction with the Independent Feature Project/North with major funds provided by Northwest Airlines and the McKnight Foundation. MIFF is an investment in the creative talent of Minnesota filmmakers and provides a unique opportunity to stimulate production of high quality independent feature films.
